Building and Fire Safety

The department’s services include:

1. Planning building safety systems

• Planning the building’s safety system and planning the fire prevention strategy.
• Preparing a program for the safety plan.
• Providing solutions for architectural planning.
• Planning according to the circular of the General Manager of the Ministry of Education.
• General safety planning (SI 1142, 2142) including open public spaces, parks, height and level differences.
• Submitting safety plans to the Fire Authority, guiding the project and overall supervision.
• Final approval of the complex.
• Dealing with receiving the Fire Department’s approval.

2. Fire safety planning for renovation work

• Preparing a fire safety plan for renovation work in an office/shop/restaurant.
• Giving safety instructions, selecting and approving materials.
• Overall supervision and final approval.

3. Preparing a site file for buildings and complexes.

• Preparing a file that collects the description of the site’s systems, procedures for testing the systems, emergency procedures, procedures for coordination with the Fire Authority and other authorities.

4. Facility file

• A file designed for stadiums and sports halls.
• Preparing safety plans and detailed inspection of sports complexes.
• Mapping and identifying risks and providing solutions for corrective action.
• Guiding repairs and work with licensing factors, up to receipt of a license.
• Lavetach’s engineers are certified by the Ministry of the Economy as sports safety managers, for the preparation of facility files and giving safety approvals).

5. Integration testing of emergency systems

• The purpose of integration testing is to ensure integration between the systems in place in the building, and thereby to ensure that in an emergency, all systems in place shall operate in full coordination and automatically, in order to save lives and minimize damage to property.

6. Preparing an operation regime for emergency systems

• Preparing an operation regime which determines the regime of integration actions by emergency systems, determining the manner and timing of the operation of safety systems (smoke exhaust fans, closing fire doors etc.), pursuant to the building’s designations and the Fire Commissioner’s Directive no. 536.

7. Thermal scan of electricity panels

• Thermal scan/thermal photograph of electricity panels using a special-purpose thermal camera that allows:
  Identifying electricity defects
  2. Defective components, loose connections, incompatibility of conductors with the current
  3. Reducing the risk of fire
• Discovering overloads

8. Inspection of portable electric equipment

• Electricity inspection of portable electrical tools, using special-purpose test equipment

9. Guidance for fire reports

• Guidance for fire reports and work on the fire prevention report’s findings: learning the report’s requirements, providing professional/engineering clarifications for the purpose of execution,
• as necessary, Lavetach provides guidance services, working with the fire services up to the receipt of the Fire Department approval.

10. Computer simulation of smoke products (CFD)

• This is performed using a computer simulation of the behavior of combustion products and smoke flow in crowded places, public buildings and underground structures, such as tunnels and train stations.

11. Safety planning in open areas

• Safety planning of neighborhoods, open public areas, parks
• and general planning pursuant to SI 1142 and SI 2142.
• Providing solutions against falling, for level differences.

12. Police safety opinion

• Police safety opinion pursuant to the requirements of the Israel Police and a safety consultant’s opinion according to the type and purpose of the business.
• This item includes a safety engineer’s opinion on the following matters: exits/entrances, emergency lights, exit signs, walking distances etc.
